[Analysis: SpaceX Drives Space Investment Boom, Space Economy Investment May Exceed $100 Billion by 2026] Driven by SpaceX's record-breaking IPO, defense spending, and space infrastructure development, global space economy investments are expected to surpass $100 billion for the first time by 2026. This forecast comes from Space Capital's latest analysis of third-quarter investment activity. The report not only highlights massive investments in the space sector but also notes that the number of space companies reaching unicorn valuations has hit a record high. Space Capital CEO Chad Anderson stated: 'We all thought the market in 2021 was already exceptionally hot.' He was referring to the SPAC (Special Purpose Acquisition Company) frenzy at the time. 'But compared to the current situation, that was merely a footnote.' When explaining this surge in investments, nearly all signs point to SpaceX.
