[German Think Tank IFO: Restrictions on AI Training Data Access Could Lead to Annual Loss of €155 Billion for Germany]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on October 13, the German think tank IFO stated that if access to artificial intelligence training data becomes further restricted, Germany could face an annual loss of €155 billion (approximately $173.43 billion) in additional value. IFO's research indicates that by 2034, generative artificial intelligence could contribute €440 billion annually to Germany's economy. However, if access to training data is limited, this increase would be reduced by €155 billion. IFO expert Oliver Falck emphasized that anyone aiming to develop leading AI models in Europe should not impose unnecessary restrictions on obtaining training data, stating that 'you can't have both.'
