A dollar in 1970 has the same purchasing power as $8.63 today. Fiat was never really designed to be a long-term store of value. Under the current system it’s mostly a medium of exchange with built-in inflation. So the only real ways to keep up are to keep raising your income or put your money into assets that can outpace it, like Bitcoin.
