BAT is another Crypto+AI project that I don’t fully understand. At its core, it’s a Web2 browser product, and its token, the 'Basic Attention Token,' is mainly used as a reward for viewing ads in the browser. So why is it considered an AI project? Because the Brave browser focuses on privacy and is well-suited for future Agent needs. If you frequently use OpenClaw or Hermes, you might know that when configuring search services, the choice is usually between Google and Brave. The bullish case for BAT comes from the recent steady growth in Brave users and the announcement of Roadmap 4.0 in July, which mentions using a portion of net revenue to buy back BAT tokens. But realistically, these factors don’t directly create upward momentum. For now, it looks more like a bottom rebound. That said, since the BAT token is already close to full circulation and has carved out a niche in the AI space (search engines), it’s similar to how Venice focuses on privacy or how Phala/ionet provide computing power. These projects could benefit from the premium brought by the AI boom. On top of that, Grayscale also has a corresponding ETF called the Grayscale Basic Attention Token Trust (ticker: GBAT), which is one of the reasons I value it—there’s institutional involvement. BAT went up today, so I’m diving deeper into it. Keeping an eye on quality Crypto+AI opportunities emerging in this cycle, just in case.
