GPT 6 Astra model really knows how to mess things up, gotta admit it.
Today, I got a CF Worker quota alert. After some analysis, I found the issue was caused by a configuration setting.
First, Grok Bot analyzed it, then I submitted a PR, and finally, Opus 5.5 audited and merged it for deployment.
After wrapping that up, I reopened my Claude session to investigate who originally changed that configuration (crime scene investigation vibes).
Didn’t take long to figure it out—it was none other than the genius GPT 6 Astra (medium).
Back when we migrated to an independent domain, Astra decided to configure all requests to go through the Worker in the CF settings.
There was clearly a simpler solution (setting up a 301 redirect), but it required some human intervention. So Astra, trying to be clever, chose a path it could handle on its own.
The result? A hidden time bomb.
With thousands of user visits, the daily 100,000 Worker request quota was drained in no time.
Although there wasn’t any real loss, with code quality like this, how could you ever trust Codex to handle any serious production code?
If we’re talking real losses, that would be the code Gemini 3.8 wrote for me. It made billions of RPC calls, blowing up my bill on the spot ($1200).
Bad models don’t just waste your time—they help you lose money faster and in larger amounts. I’ve definitely learned that lesson.
What I didn’t expect was that even GPT 6 Astra would end up in the same category as those American soybean bags.
So here’s the question:
Why hasn’t Gemini 4 been released yet?
Why hasn’t GPT launched a model that can rival Opus 5.5?
And why have there been no updates from domestic models for so long? Is it really because Claude blocked 99% of distillation requests?
