[Rome Plans to Launch Token ROME, Protocol Revenue to Be Retained or Bought into Reserves in ROME Form] Foresight News reports that the cross-chain interoperability protocol Rome, built on Solana, announced via a tweet its plan to launch the token ROME. In the future, users will need to hold ROME to pay gas fees for transactions on Rome's native chain. Additionally, the protocol will charge a small fee for every transaction on each chain it powers, with half of the revenue retained in ROME form or used to buy ROME on the open market to be added to a non-sellable reserve. This reserve will grow in proportion to the activity across all Rome-powered chains (including chains using their own gas tokens). The token's launch date has not yet been determined. To date, Rome has completed $9 million in funding, with participation from Portal Ventures, Hack VC, HashKey, Anagram, Robot Ventures, and others.
