The native liquidity crisis in Crypto stems from a complete failure in the narrative competition with AI, as well as the market's rejection of Web3 primitives aimed at mass adoption, such as social, gaming, and DePin.
Since 2016, Crypto idealists have fallen into extreme pessimism, while realists have embraced extreme financial nihilism. The traditional Crypto primary market industrial chain—creating new primitives, having top-tier devs turn them into engineered implementations, VC investments, airdrop farmers gaming the system, and exiting via CEX secondary markets—has collapsed. Even the industrial assembly line production of meme coins has led to an oversupply of platforms launching them. Not even Vitalik can come up with new stories anymore, resorting to just talking about cryptography.
Under the ideological shadow of "Song Jiang-ism," Crypto has completely lost its agency, becoming a tool and appendage of Wall Street's blockchain-ification of financial infrastructure. The most laughable thing is the rise of RWA Memecoins, treating the provision of liquidity for tokenized US stocks as politically correct—something that runs entirely counter to the crypto-punk spirit that Crypto was founded on.
At this rate, the Crypto industry will be fully deconstructed by AI and TradFi, leaving behind only offshore exchanges providing liquidity, PerpDEXs exploiting regulatory arbitrage, and half-dead DeFi protocols surviving on meme coin hype and sporadic income spikes from new chain booms.
Narrative is the first principle of Crypto. Crypto must invent new narratives.
Philosophers say all Western philosophy is a footnote to Plato. For Crypto, all narratives are interpretations of the Bitcoin whitepaper. In this moment of collective confusion for the industry, the only thing we can do is return to Satoshi and rediscover the strength to move forward.
