[Venture Capital Firm USV Raises $900 Million Fund] Foresight News reports that Union Square Ventures (USV) partner Michael Mignano tweeted that USV has raised a new $900 million fund to invest in startups operating on the fringes of large markets and undergoing technological transformation. The previous core fund had a size of $275 million. While the number of investments for this fund will remain roughly the same, the amount per investment will increase to enable leading more funding rounds, providing longer-term support for companies, and covering more capital-intensive categories such as robotics, manufacturing, and energy. Additionally, USV recently added new team members, including Anchor co-founder Michael Mignano (General Partner), GroupMe co-founder Jared Hecht (Venture Partner), and Behance co-founder Scott Belsky (Product Advisor Partner).
