My political betting on Polymarket:
Even though I spent the most time on the Richmond and Vancouver elections, these two markets have such low liquidity that I couldn’t place any bets—just here for the drama. The real value lies in using them to fine-tune analysis between real-world results and polling samples.
All my political bets are on the midterm elections, where liquidity is sufficient. I’ve got a full set of automated tools for capturing and updating online and offline polling data, plus an auto-trading bot. Only U.S. elections in the global market have enough data to play with; other regions, including Canada, lack sufficient data to make it viable. For the Senate, my data conclusions almost completely align with those of Meat Monk.
While the Vancouver and Richmond markets aren’t playable, the data alone was enough for me to predict the probabilities of the mayoral results in advance.
Sharing some of my betting tools for fellow Polymarket gamblers who are interested.
