[Analysis: Bitcoin's Rise Lacks Volume and New Capital Support, Short-Term Investors Take Profits During the Rally]
BlockBeats News, October 7: Glassnode released a report pointing out that Bitcoin's breakout above the $85,000 sell wall occurred with low trading volume and limited inflow of new capital, followed by a pullback. The 7-day moving average of combined daily trading volume on spot exchanges and U.S. spot ETFs is approximately $6.8 billion, lower than about 90% of trading days since January 2024.
In the 30 days leading up to October 5, new capital inflows from ETFs, stablecoin growth, and corporate treasury purchases amounted to approximately $4.9 billion, accounting for less than 40% of the $12.8 billion increase in realized market value during the same period. On October 4, short-term profitable holders contributed about 86% of the inflows to trading platforms on that day, marking a one-year high, indicating that recent buyers are taking profits.
The options market has shifted back to a bullish bias, with the open interest put-to-call ratio at approximately 0.56. Recent liquidation levels are primarily concentrated below the current price, with the latest large cluster located between $81,700 and $83,300. Binance's largest buy order range is between $81,000 and $81,250.
If spot trading volume and ETF buying interest rebound and Bitcoin stabilizes above $85,500, it would indicate that the breakout has gained substantial support, and the short liquidation cluster near $92,000 could come into play. However, if the $81,000 buy orders are breached, lower liquidation clusters may be triggered; altcoin leverage remains high, and continued declines could lead to forced liquidations. [Original Link]
