[Tether Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Kazakhstan's National Bank and Almaty City Administration to Explore Stablecoins and Asset Tokenization] Odaily Planet Daily News, October 7 — Digital asset company Tether has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Kazakhstan's National Bank (NBK) and Almaty City Administration (ACA) to explore stablecoin development, asset tokenization, and decentralized finance applications. The three parties will jointly study international models for stablecoin issuance, potential application scenarios, and develop a concept and pilot program for a stablecoin pegged to Kazakhstan's national currency, the tenge, while building infrastructure to support digital financial development. The agreement also covers the establishment of a framework for asset tokenization in Kazakhstan, including evaluating the potential use of Tether's tokenization platform, Hadron, and designing tokenization models within the jurisdiction of Almaty City, identifying priority asset categories, and launching pilot projects. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that Kazakhstan is exploring asset tokenization and strategic reserve frameworks. Kazakhstan's National Bank Deputy Chairman Binur Zhalenov emphasized that financial stability, transaction transparency, and investor protection are top priorities. (Tether News)
