According to a report by The Defiant on October 7, Anchorage Digital announced the acquisition of B2B payment platform Routable, with the transaction amount undisclosed. Routable, through developer-first APIs, helps businesses onboard and verify payees, automate tax and compliance processes, and make bulk payments to creators, contractors, and sellers in over 220 countries, supporting both fiat and stablecoin settlements. Anchorage stated that its initial clients were crypto-native companies, followed by traditional financial institutions entering the digital asset space, and eventually large tech firms and Fortune 500 companies with significant payment needs. Serving the latter requires "the last mile for fiat," a capability that Routable completes. Routable will operate under a new brand, with stablecoin and tokenized deposit products expected to roll out in the coming quarters.
