Whoa, Tom Lee is at it again: ETH to break $5,000 this year, and in a few years, he's calling for $60,000
Short-term target is $3,000, with a chance to retest its all-time high and hit $5,000 this year.
Once it truly breaks out, he believes ETH could go up 10–12x, reaching $50,000–$60,000 within a few years.
ETH has been trading sideways for a full 5 years now.
After the 2018 bear market ended, Ethereum made a major breakout, and Tom Lee calculated it went up about 17x afterward. This time, with institutions seriously studying public chains, asset tokenization, and blockchain infrastructure, he thinks Ethereum is still the chain most likely to be accepted by traditional finance—stable operations, large-scale usage, and security proven over years.
So his logic is to wait for the $5,000 ceiling, which has been holding ETH back for years, to be smashed, and then reprice the entire ETH market.
ETH has already bounced from $1,500 to nearly $2,800, but Tom Lee says the market feels almost no excitement. Instead, a lot of big players who shorted this rebound early are facing massive losses, while many others were still waiting for the October four-year cycle bottom.
In his view, this kind of situation—where prices have risen significantly but the market is still skeptical—looks more like the early stages of a bull market rather than the end of one.
