✍️ Took some time to grind for the Fomies whitelist, might be a pleasant surprise.
A few days ago, I saw @sanyi_eth_ playing around with @FomiesNFT and thought it looked pretty interesting. Finally made time today to complete the tasks—hoping to get approved.

This project registered its Twitter account on August 27, posted its first tweet on September 23, opened whitelist applications the next day, and received over 23,000 applications within 48 hours. The hype is unreal.
What’s intriguing is that a lot of key information about the project hasn’t been disclosed yet—like the total NFT supply, whitelist spots, which chain it’ll launch on, holder benefits, etc. The community knows nothing except that it’s a Free Mint.
The reason Fomies is blowing up is mainly because of its gamified whitelist process. Applicants need to interact with characters and complete tasks, which is a step up from the grind-heavy methods we’ve seen before.
That said, the whole whitelist distribution process is still time-consuming and labor-intensive (seems like it’s all manual). Most applicants still have to grind hard, and so far, I’ve only seen sanyi get approved in the Chinese community.
Honestly, future NFT whitelist distributions should take notes from @NucleusCodes: open up both a Contribution Leaderboard and a Reputation Leaderboard. This way, you can accurately target active on-chain users and diamond hands, while also recognizing community members who contribute creatively.
NFTs have been doing pretty well lately, so participating in Free Mint or low-cost NFT launches like Fomies isn’t a bad idea.
