[Arbitrum Temporarily Halts Activation of New Stylus Contracts to Address AI-Assisted Attack Risks] According to a report from the Arbitrum Security Council, Arbitrum took emergency action at approximately 23:30 Beijing time on October 2 to temporarily block the activation of new Stylus contracts on the Arbitrum One and Nova networks in response to increasingly sophisticated AI-assisted attack risks. This restriction primarily targets programs and application updates requiring new activation, while already activated Stylus applications can continue to operate. Regular Solidity contract deployment and execution remain unaffected. Arbitrum officials stated that this preventive measure stems from threats of WebAssembly program attacks using non-standard Stylus compiler toolchains. Currently, no risks of stolen funds have been identified, with the main concerns focusing on on-chain activity and denial-of-service (DoS) attacks.
