**[Blast Shutting Down L2: Economic Model Unsustainable, Users Must Withdraw Assets by October 26]** Odaily Planet Daily News: Blast announced on the X platform that it will gradually shut down its L2 network. The team stated that its initial goal was to create a network capable of long-term operation, serving users and developers through its own economic model. However, the ongoing maintenance costs for Blast have now exceeded the revenue generated by the L2, and the team believes there is currently no credible path to achieving economic sustainability. As a result, they have decided to terminate Blast's operations. The team apologized to users and developers who have used Blast, developed on it, and supported its ecosystem, and emphasized that their primary focus now is ensuring the shutdown process is as smooth and secure as possible. Blast has requested all users to withdraw their assets to the Ethereum mainnet, including balances stored in the Blast PWA. To lower the withdrawal threshold for users, the team plans to reduce the withdrawal waiting time to 24 hours. However, once the shutdown process begins, Blast will first handle the exit of its Lido assets, which is expected to take approximately one week. During this period, even if the withdrawal waiting time has been shortened, users will temporarily be unable to withdraw assets. After the Lido asset exit process is completed, Blast will restore the withdrawal function with a 24-hour waiting time. Users can withdraw assets through Blast's regular interface until October 26, 2026. After October 26, assets will still be withdrawable, but users will need to interact directly with the Blast Bridge contract deployed on Ethereum L1. The team will release detailed operational guidelines before this date. Blast strongly recommends users complete their asset withdrawals by October 26.
