According to Bloomberg, Anthropic is set to kick off its IPO roadshow as early as the week of November 9, aiming to officially go public before Thanksgiving. Rumors suggest the market valuation could reach as high as $1.8T–$2T, with an expected fundraising scale of around $100B. Annualized Revenue (ARR) had already surpassed $65B by the end of July, with market rumors suggesting it could hit $110B by year-end and a 2028 target guidance of $190B–$200B. Michael Burry is back to shorting AI again. He believes the market should experience a major drop before OpenAI and Anthropic go public. Is he genuinely bearish on semiconductors and AI Capex, or is he just trolling for attention? From a capital markets perspective, Anthropic pushing to complete its IPO in Q4 is a strategic move to lock in valuation and secure long-term development funds while the market still has a relatively high risk appetite and the financing window hasn’t fully closed. This also helps mitigate uncertainties tied to further macro liquidity tightening next year. Bullish before the IPO, but post-IPO might be a case of sell the news.
