[Controversy Surrounds Abstract Chain: Founder Removes Related Identifier from Account, Core Developer Silent for Months and Begins Transferring Funds]
BlockBeats News, October 1: Abstract, a consumer-grade Ethereum L2 chain under Igloo Inc., the parent company of Pudgy Penguins, faced significant community controversy yesterday. On one hand, Pudgy Penguins founder Luca Netz removed the Abstract identifier from his X account ID yesterday. At the same time, community reports revealed that a wallet associated with core developer Cygaar has been transferring funds out of the Abstract chain, while Cygaar's X account has been inactive since June 2026.
In August of this year, Abstract's ecosystem lead (Mason) and product lead (0xBeans) both resigned. The official Abstract chain account has also entered a semi-dormant state. As a result, the community is concerned that Abstract may be on the verge of shutting down.
As of the time of publication, there has been no official response to the community's concerns. [Original Link]
