**[Enhancing User Protection: Polymarket Introduces Deposit Limits and Self-Exclusion Features]**
Odaily Planet Daily News – Polymarket has launched deposit limits, self-exclusion lists, and anti-addiction support measures. Users can set deposit limits that cannot be immediately revoked, or add themselves to temporary or permanent self-exclusion lists to pause platform usage. Polymarket has also partnered with online gambling addiction treatment organization Birches Health to provide mental health resources for users exhibiting compulsive financial transaction behaviors.
Its Global Head of Safety, Malea Otranto, stated that the company will monitor the usage of these tools and may adjust them based on their effectiveness. Prediction markets in the United States are classified as financial markets regulated by the CFTC and are not required to comply with state-level consumer protection rules for sports betting platforms.
According to TickerTracker data, sports markets and parlay trading accounted for over 98% of Polymarket's U.S. platform trading volume this month. The State of New York has filed a lawsuit against Polymarket seeking to shut down its operations; Polymarket denies any wrongdoing and has filed a countersuit in federal court.
