Sources: Apple to Make Major Push into Smart Home Market

Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on September 30, Apple (AAPL.O) plans to make a significant push into the smart home market on October 13, marking a critical expansion of its product line under the leadership of new CEO Ternus. According to insiders, the core of this strategy is a smart home control device codenamed J490. Apple also plans to release the first update to the HomePod mini since its debut in 2020, as well as the first new Apple TV set-top box since 2022. These products will showcase Apple's newly developed Siri AI assistant, which has been in the works for years. The release of the upgraded Siri has faced multiple delays, but these smart home devices are expected to highlight Apple's efforts to catch up in the AI field. Insiders revealed that the smart home control device will feature a design with an approximately 6-inch square display and will be available in both wall-mounted and desktop versions.
