[Dollar Set to Achieve Best Monthly Performance Since June, Boosted by Fed's Inflation Control Commitment] As the Federal Reserve refocuses on curbing inflation, driving rate expectations and U.S. Treasury yields higher, the dollar is poised to achieve its best monthly performance since June. Robust U.S. economic data and heightened inflation risks have provided support for the dollar. The Iran war has led to elevated energy prices and pushed U.S. Treasury yields to historic highs, with the 30-year yield reaching its highest level since 2002. The market currently expects the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates by nearly 1 percentage point over the next 12 months, which will further bolster the dollar. "The dollar's movement continues to be guided by U.S. economic data," said Jayati Bharadwaj, Head of FX Strategy at TD Securities. "The unexpected performance of U.S. economic data will serve as a directional signal for the dollar in the short term and determine whether the Fed's rate hikes align with market expectations."
