The #Bitcoin Foundation launched in Sept 2012, when #BTC was ~$12.
But it didn't go as planned. Its founding board included the future Mt. Gox collapse and a Silk Road guilty plea. Within 3 years it was nearly broke, and bitcoin kept climbing anyway.
