How desperate is the money? Upbit's GIWA mainnet isn't even live yet, and 766 ETH has already been scammed
GIWA Chain, developed by Upbit's parent company Dunamu, currently only has a testnet. The official mainnet hasn’t launched at all.
But somehow, the Chinese community started spreading a so-called GIWA mainnet RPC + cross-chain bridge, and even connected a DEX to it. A bunch of people, eager to catch the so-called first wave of the Korean chain, directly bridged real ETH from the Ethereum mainnet into it.
The official team quickly clarified:
The mainnet has never been launched, and there’s no such thing as a leaked mainnet RPC.
The official testnet Chain ID is 91342, but the so-called mainnet circulating in the community is 9134.
On-chain tracking shows that approximately 766 ETH has already been transferred out. The funds didn’t go to GIWA or Upbit—they went to unofficial contracts behind the fake bridge.
