After that tweet went out, a lot of people asked about the process of selling claims—whether it's complicated, if you need to pay upfront, etc. Turns out @qredaxclaim has a 38-second video that walks through the entire process. Watch it, and you'll pretty much get the idea. The example in the video is pretty interesting. The name filled in is Wei Chen, and the country selected is China—clearly tailored to our situation here. The process has four steps: 1. Enter your client ID from the Kroll portal, and within seconds, you'll get a claim valuation. The example in the video shows $18,400. 2. Fill in your name, email, claim amount, and country, then submit for a free evaluation—no upfront fees required. 3. You'll get a reply and offer within one business day. If you're happy with it, sign the claim transfer agreement, which will be recorded in Kroll's public bankruptcy files. 4. Once signed, the funds are sent to your wallet. In the video, the payment is in USDT, and it's traceable on-chain. Basically, it's about converting the money stuck at Step 8 into cash you can access now. For mainland China and Macau addresses, you can't select a payment provider in the FTX portal, and there's a deadline looming at the end of January next year. Instead of waiting around, why not enter your client ID and see how much your claim is worth? Checking it out doesn't cost anything. A couple of things to clarify upfront to avoid misunderstandings: First, the maximum payout is 95% of face value, but the actual percentage depends on the claim category and any distributions you've already received—not everyone gets 95%. Second, submitting a query doesn't require identity verification, but if you decide to sign the agreement, verification is mandatory. This is a necessary step for a legitimate transfer. Whether you decide to sell or not, if you have an FTX claim that's stuck due to a Chinese address, it's worth checking to get a sense of its value. It never hurts to know.
