According to Bloomberg, insiders revealed that prediction contracts on Polymarket related to the collapse of banks like JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo have raised concerns among officials at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Some officials worry that if the scale of such trades expands, it could fuel real-world bank runs. The FDIC has also discussed preventing employees from using insider information to participate in these trades, ultimately concluding that existing ethical guidelines are sufficient to prohibit such behavior. These contracts are currently only available on Polymarket's offshore platform, as its U.S.-regulated platform has not launched such products. The total trading volume for contracts betting on bank collapses by the end of this year is approximately $76,000. Polymarket stated that such markets allow the public to access information typically reserved for professional financial institutions. https://(wublock123.com)/news/polymarket-bank-collapse-prediction-contracts-fdic-concerns-69034
