In terms of the amount of funds, it indeed doesn’t affect the platform’s survival. Previously, Bybit was hacked, and we know that Bitget and Bybit share common shareholders. The biggest issue is that shareholder confidence takes a hit—working so hard to run an exchange, only to end up working for hackers. It’s inevitable to feel like giving up. An exchange’s withdrawal process is essentially a full audit of its funds. Not long ago, BitMEX’s withdrawal process was pretty clean—no reports of fund issues. On the other hand, BitMart has been using all sorts of methods to hold onto users’ funds.
