[U.S. International Trade Commission Investigates Micron and Multiple Server Manufacturers' Storage Products] Odaily Planet Daily News – The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) has voted to initiate an investigation into a major category of storage products produced by Micron Technology (MU.O)—Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM)—as well as multiple server manufacturers that use these chips in their products. The federal agency stated that the investigation is based on a complaint filed by Netlist, a memory supplier based in Irvine, California. The complaint alleges that the companies violated U.S. federal tariff laws, accusing certain DRAM devices and products containing these devices of being imported and sold in the U.S. in violation of the company's patent rights. In addition to Micron, the USITC stated that it will also investigate server manufacturers Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Super Micro Computer, and Lenovo Group.
