[New York Fed President Williams: Significant Work Remains to Reduce U.S. Inflation] According to a report by Golden Finance, New York Fed President John Williams stated that, given elevated energy prices and strong demand driven by investments in artificial intelligence, there is still significant work to be done in combating inflation. Williams noted that the market expects one more rate hike before the end of the year, calling this 'a reasonable judgment, but we still need to see how things unfold.' Williams emphasized that despite major shocks, the U.S. economy has demonstrated 'extraordinary resilience,' and the labor market remains 'robust.' However, he pointed out that the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict has introduced persistent inflation risks, while 'demand in the artificial intelligence sector is quite strong.' 'This is our mission: we still have a lot of work to do,' Williams said during an event in London on Thursday. 'Inflation has been above target for five consecutive years.'
