Bitwise released its first *Institutional Crypto Asset Adoption* report, based on interviews with investment professionals responsible for crypto asset allocation at 15 large institutions. The report states that during the period from Q4 2025 to Q2 2026, the overall crypto market experienced a roughly 50% pullback, yet none of the surveyed institutions reduced their crypto asset allocations, with some even increasing their holdings. All surveyed institutions holding crypto assets own Bitcoin, with most viewing it as a store of value asset, comparable to gold, and as a hedge against fiat currency depreciation. The report also reveals that the proportion of crypto asset allocations among the surveyed institutions ranges from 0.5% to 13% of investable assets, with most concentrated between 1% and 2%.
