Six years ago today, Avalanche went live. But the story started earlier. In 2018, we published the Avalanche whitepaper as Team Rocket, challenging a field that largely believed the fundamental approaches to consensus had already been discovered. We thought there was another way. Six years later, Avalanche powers global financial markets, cross-border payments, enterprise systems, and critical infrastructure. And I suspect the most consequential applications of what we built have not even been imagined yet.
