[$100 Million 5-Year Digital Bond Issued by Hana Bank, Directly Utilizing Euroclear Blockchain Infrastructure]
Odaily Planet Daily reports that South Korea's Hana Bank has issued a $100 million, 5-year foreign currency digital bond, directly utilizing the digital financial market infrastructure of Euroclear. This marks the first digital bond in South Korea to be issued directly using Euroclear's blockchain infrastructure. The issuance, registration, and settlement of the bond are all processed on a distributed ledger network, reducing the bond allocation and payment settlement time from 3 to 5 business days to the same day. Investors can trade the bond through existing accounts and trading systems via Euroclear's global settlement network. (Cointelegraph)
