Turkey Busts Transnational Investment Scam Network, 191 Arrested with Over $3 Billion Involved
Turkish prosecutors revealed that a transnational scam network, operating out of Turkey under the guise of forex and cryptocurrency investments, lured victims with promises of high returns. The scammers then fabricated profits, created withdrawal barriers, and demanded 'tax payments' to extract even more funds. The total amount involved exceeds $3 billion.
In an operation involving Turkish intelligence, police, and Interpol, 191 suspects were arrested, including 9 Israeli citizens. Authorities have seized or frozen assets such as bank accounts, crypto wallets, real estate, and vehicles. The investigation is ongoing, and all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
