[Istanbul Uncovers $3 Billion Crypto Investment Scam, Arrests 191 Suspects]
According to *The Jerusalem Post*, the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office announced that an international investment scam network, allegedly operated by Israeli citizens and active in Turkey, has been dismantled, involving over $3 billion. The Turkish Ministry of Interior, National Intelligence Organization (MIT), Istanbul Prosecutor's Office, police cybercrime unit, Interpol, and the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) conducted a joint operation, arresting 191 out of 239 suspects. The network disguised itself as service, consulting, and tourism centers through companies based in Turkey, using social media and advertisements to lure investors into forex and cryptocurrency trading with promises of high returns. Victims were initially persuaded to invest small amounts and later encouraged to add more funds; when attempting to withdraw, they were asked to make additional payments under the pretext of 'account freezing.'
