According to *The Wall Street Journal*, prediction market platform Polymarket's U.S. operations suffered a massive fraud attack this February. Criminals used stolen debit cards to link accounts, attempting to transfer at least $10 million through betting and withdrawals. The payment processor flagged and rejected over 80% of incoming transactions as fraudulent, far exceeding the industry norm of around 1% mentioned in the report. Insiders revealed that after employees reported the risks to CEO Shayne Coplan, Coplan responded by saying the company should continue growing and pay fines if regulators discovered any issues. Polymarket stated that it has established mechanisms to detect and respond to suspicious activities and is committed to cooperating with regulators and law enforcement.
