According to a Digital Asset article, Robinhood Chain has processed over 600 million transactions since the end of April, but the on-chain fees paid to Ethereum during the same period were only about $49,000. Another on-chain analysis shows that on September 3, Robinhood Chain collected approximately $4.5 million in transaction fees in a single day, while the fees paid to Ethereum were only around $400. The article points out that L2 transaction fees are primarily captured by sequencer operators, while Ethereum's direct revenue may be limited to Blob data fees. Although Robinhood Chain uses ETH as its gas asset and relies on Ethereum for data availability, its sequencer and validation mechanisms still exhibit significant centralization. The article suggests that the growth in L2 transaction volume does not necessarily translate directly into economic value for Ethereum. Ethereum needs to further solidify its role as a neutral cross-platform settlement and security infrastructure.
