[Iranian Sources: U.S. Claims It Is Ready to Negotiate with Iran]
BlockBeats News, September 19 — Senior Iranian sources have revealed that Qatar and Pakistan, acting as mediators, have informed Iran that the United States is ready to negotiate and reach an agreement, demonstrating a serious attitude toward advancing this process. According to the sources, from Iran's perspective, as long as the U.S. returns to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and fulfills its terms, Iran is prepared to resume implementing the memorandum within days. However, Iran demands concrete and credible guarantees to ensure it will not face further attacks.
Once the U.S. implements the substantive content of the memorandum, including ceasing hostile actions, lifting blockades, and allowing Iran to export oil, Iran will immediately initiate negotiations on nuclear issues and sanctions relief. Iran has reached a consensus with Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz. However, as long as the blockade persists and no agreement is reached with the U.S., 'Iran will not reopen the strait.'
