Whether it’s Anthropic’s CEO leading the call to slow down AI development last weekend, the recurring rumors about AI being so smart it escapes the sandbox and causes chaos on its own, or the delays in IPOs. At its core, it all boils down to the immense pressure on U.S. AI development at this stage. Funding is tight, and they need to create stories to support valuations. If they go public too early, they’re worried about political instability and insufficient funding. On the other hand, they’re also trying to generate hype, flipping the narrative back and forth to grab attention before the IPO. But judging from the recent momentum in crypto, while funding isn’t abundant, it’s not entirely dried up either. As long as the Iran issue is resolved quickly, easing international capital concerns, and negotiations with China reduce competition on the AI front, the AI bubble can still be sustained for quite a while.
