[Crypto Technology Service Provider Haruko Targeted in Cyberattack, 15 Institutional Clients Affected]
According to Deep Tide TechFlow on September 18, as reported by CoinDesk, London-based crypto institutional technology service provider Haruko experienced a targeted cyberattack earlier this week, affecting a total of 15 clients. The attackers exploited vulnerabilities in Haruko's infrastructure to extract user access tokens, thereby gaining access to clients' read-only exchange API information and trading data. A small number of clients' funds were stolen, with smaller hedge funds that have weaker security controls facing higher risks of loss. Haruko co-founder and CTO Adam Carlile confirmed that the attack specifically targeted Haruko itself. The vulnerabilities have since been patched, and the company plans to release a comprehensive technical post-mortem report. Haruko serves over 80 institutional clients globally, connecting to more than 100 centralized exchanges and 30 blockchains.
