[Lee Jae-myung Admits Shortcomings of Single-Stock Leveraged ETFs but Does Not Apologize for Investor Losses]
According to foreign media reports, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung admitted on Friday that the single-stock leveraged exchange-traded funds (ETFs) introduced earlier this year have shortcomings. At a press conference, he stated that such products were launched near the end of a stock market rally, after which the market shifted, causing significant losses for investors. However, Lee Jae-myung did not apologize for this nor did he name the decision-makers responsible for the policy. The policy had previously sparked strong dissatisfaction and backlash from investors.
