According to Wu Blockchain, the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has announced sanctions against the Iranian digital asset trading platform BitBank, its developer Pishtaz Simorgh Electronic Trade Company, and three associated individuals. The U.S. Treasury stated that BitBank is controlled by sanctioned Iranian financier Babak Zanjani and is part of his network for evading digital asset sanctions. Between June and July 2026, Zanjani reportedly transferred hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Bitcoin ($BTC) to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) via BitBank. The sanctioned Hormuz Safe Marine Services Authority also used the platform to transfer funds. Assets of the individuals and entities within the U.S. or controlled by U.S. persons will be frozen, and entities in which they hold a direct or indirect stake of 50% or more will also be blocked. https://(wublock123.com)/news/us-treasury-sanctions-iran-digital-asset-platform-bitbank-bitcoin-transfers-irgc-68579
