Defendant also allegedly voted in the Presidential primary election.” I was recently interviewed by someone in the media. When I said election integrity was one of the most important issues of our day - the journalist said to me - “you can’t prove widespread fraud is happening.” I inquired why would I need to prove widespread fraud first, before arguing we should have voter ID. I also responded - you can’t assure me that it never happens. France is a pretty liberal country and they banned widespread mail-in voting in 1976 for the POTENTIAL of fraud. All that’s required is someone saying they swear or affirm under the penalties of perjury - they’re a US citizen. Clearly, that’s not enough to guarantee that no non-citizens will vote. We have a Ballot Question seeking same day voter registration.
