Sen. Josh Hawley says his concern with the CLARITY Act is community banks losing deposits to stablecoin rewards, which could make it harder for farmers and small businesses in Missouri to get loans. That’s a legitimate issue to raise. But this is where I’m confused. The final bill already added new Treasury authority specifically to address harmful deposit flight from community banks. And Hawley said Sen. Jerry Moran has language that could potentially fix his remaining concern. The vote wasn’t final passage. It was a vote to move forward, debate the bill and offer amendments. So if the issue is fixable, why not move the bill forward and fix it? That’s the part I’m having a hard time understanding. https://x.com/RealLindellTV/status/2100250152858738718/video/1
