[Ripple Development Kit Adds Support for Stripe and Tempo's Payment Protocol MPP]
According to CoinDesk, Ripple has added support for Machine Payment Protocol (MPP) and Open Wallet Standards in version 1.1 of the XRP Ledger AI Starter Kit, enabling AI agents to use XRP and RLUSD to pay for online services such as data and computing power. MPP was jointly developed by Stripe and Tempo. RippleX Product Lead Jazzi Cooper stated that the goal is to make XRP and RLUSD a top choice for developers. The software is still in the testing phase, and no commercial clients or payment volumes using MPP integration have been disclosed. Ripple previously supported the x402 standard in June; stablecoins currently only support one-time payments, and integrating payment channels requires ledger upgrades.
