With so much bearish news, bitcoin:native is holding strong without dropping. Is this the bottom or just stubborn resistance?
The Fed is raising interest rates, and the dot plot suggests more hikes this year.
Waller’s speech leaned hawkish, strengthening the dollar and U.S. bond yields.
The CLARITY Act hit roadblocks, ETFs saw large outflows, and even Strategy started selling coins. OKX
In the past, this combo of punches would’ve sent BTC crashing—or at least down to the $70,000 range.
But this time, it only dipped to around $75,000 before quickly being bought back up.
This shows there’s solid support around $75,000. The market wasn’t entirely unprepared for rate hikes. Dropping from $82,000 to $75,000—a nearly 9% pullback—has already priced in some of the bearish news.
Still, it’s too early to call for a bull run.
The longer I trade, the more I care about how prices react after news drops, rather than how scary the news itself is. If bearish news doesn’t push prices down, it means the bears can’t hit harder for now. If prices don’t recover after the news settles, it means the bulls aren’t that strong either.
BTC’s current situation is simple: there’s buying support below, but no chasing above.
If $75,000–$76,000 holds, there’s a chance for short-term sideways consolidation and another attempt at $80,000–$82,000.
Only with strong volume breaking above $82,000 can we say the bearish news has been fully absorbed. Breaking $84,000–$85,000 would then signal a potential trend reversal.
If $75,000 fails to hold, the next stop is $72,400. If that level holds, it can still be seen as a shakeout. But if it breaks decisively, the so-called resilience might just be delayed selling, and we’d need to watch out for $69,600.
Above $82,000, the bearish news is basically priced in. Below $72,400, the drop was just postponed.
As for the range in between, my go-to strategy remains the same: either stay on the sidelines or trade short-term swings with clear take-profit and stop-loss levels.
