🇺🇸NEW: JPMorgan reveals its Fed playbook for today’s rate decision
Markets are bracing for the Fed’s first rate hike since 2023, with a 25-basis-point increase widely expected to 3.75% – 4.00%.
JPMorgan outlines five potential scenarios:
• No hike: S&P 500 could fall 1.25%–1.75%
• 25bp hike with no guidance: S&P 500 could rise 0.25% – 0.75%
• 25bp hike with a reversal of 2025 cuts: S&P 500 could rise 0.5% – 1%
• 25bp hike with a higher neutral rate: S&P 500 could rise 0.25% – 1%
• 25bp hike with “materially higher” rates: S&P 500 could fall 1%–2%
