[Spain Raises Power Grid Investment Plan to Over €17 Billion]
According to Bloomberg, Spain's Energy Minister Sara Aagesen stated that the government plans to invest over €17 billion (approximately $19.6 billion) in the national power transmission and distribution network by 2030 to meet growing electricity demand and support the energy transition. This amount represents an increase of about 30% compared to the government's previous plan and a rise of approximately 144% compared to the current planning period's investment level. Authorities aim to alleviate capacity bottlenecks by expanding the power grid, create space for renewable energy and other projects to connect, and eliminate uncertainties regarding the advancement prospects of certain projects.
