According to *Lianhe Zaobao*, six Malaysian men pleaded guilty on September 14 in Singapore's High Court for their involvement in an armed robbery case in Bukit Timah, Singapore, in 2024. The two masterminds were each sentenced to 12 years and 11 months in prison, along with 24 strokes of the cane.
Case details reveal that the robbers learned about a luxury home frequently hosting high-stakes poker games, where players often settled bets using cryptocurrency. They then broke into the residence armed, forcing players to transfer cryptocurrency to a designated wallet and stealing cash and valuables worth approximately SGD 4.906 million.
Police have since recovered about SGD 1.69 million worth of cryptocurrency, but the remaining funds and items are still unaccounted for.
