Anyone who trades needs to always stay humble and patient. A lot of the time, the reason we make money isn’t entirely because we’re so skilled, but simply because we happened to be on the right side of the market.
During those hot market phases when emotions are running high, almost everything feels like the right move. Any random strategy seems to get pushed forward by the trend, making it easy to mistakenly believe your abilities are flawless.
But when the market turns sluggish, liquidity dries up, and emotions cool down, those same methods start failing repeatedly, and the once-confident judgments begin to go wrong one after another.
It’s at that moment you realize—the market never revolves around you. So instead of getting caught up in the euphoria of a few successful trades, it’s better to clearly understand this:
Profits involve an element of luck and the benefits of market cycles. What we can do is not be arrogant, but respect the market, manage risks, and wait for the right opportunities.
A truly mature trader isn’t someone who’s never failed, but someone who doesn’t get carried away in good times and doesn’t lose control in tough times.
