[Altman States OpenAI Will Not Go Public This Year or in 2026]
DeepTech TechFlow reports that on September 13, according to Jinshi Data, OpenAI founder Altman recently stated that the company will not go public this year and explicitly said, 'It will not be in 2026 either.' He emphasized that there is still a significant amount of safety work to be completed, and now is not the right time for an IPO. Since an Anthropic employee resigned and issued a stern warning about AI capabilities, concerns about the potential risks of AI have continued to rise. Altman's statement directly addresses market expectations for unprecedented IPOs from the two giants this year. With OpenAI delaying its IPO plans, the pressure to move forward with an IPO has increasingly shifted to Anthropic. Previously, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei had also publicly warned that the development of artificial intelligence needs to slow down.
