Meanwhile, the real part-time customer service staff earned money based on messages, video calls, and social media follow-backs. So, AI handled the romance and scamming, while humans proved they were 'real.' The prompts given to Claude's system explicitly instructed: - Never admit to being AI; - When asked for videos or photos, find ways to delay or avoid while continuing to build the relationship. Even the human customer service staff used AI assistance: a smaller AI model would generate three reply options at a time, and the human only needed to select one to send. The same model handled attractiveness ratings, photo and voice reviews, while virtual romantic partner avatars were created using image-generation models. In the end, they developed a highly streamlined pipeline: AI generates personas → AI chats in bulk → humans verify authenticity at key moments → users recharge to keep chatting → replicate the same model across 20+ apps.
